Scottie Scheffler’s Lawyer Doubles Down After Police Admit Error


Those that symbolize the World’s No. 1 golfer doubled down on their stance: Scottie Scheffler didn’t do something improper at Valhalla Golf Membership.

“We’re not thinking about settling the case,” Steven Romines, Scheffler’s lawyer, advised reporters after Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and Louisville police chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel held a press convention.

Scheffler on Friday was arrested and charged with a felony second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree prison mischief, reckless driving and disregarding alerts from officer directing visitors. The arrest adopted what Scheffler’s staff known as a “misunderstanding” as he was attempting to make his method by way of visitors and into the Valhalla Golf Membership.

Gwinn-Villaroel on Thursday confirmed a mistake by the Louisville police division through the arrest. The arresting officer, Det. Bryan Gillis, didn’t activate his physique digital camera throughout his confrontation and arrest of Scheffler like he ought to have, Gwinn-Villaroel stated.

Det. Gillis was assessed a coverage violation and “corrective motion,” was taken towards him, Gwinn-Villaroel stated.
