Shilese Jones withdraws from USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials as a result of damage

Shilese Jones has withdrawn from Day 2 of the USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials after an obvious damage on vault throughout warmups for Day 1 of girls’s competitors on the USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials.

Jones was warming up a double-twisting Yurchenko on vault when she landed awkwardly and instantly fell again, grabbing at her knee/leg. She slid to the sting of the rostrum the place her coach, Sarah Korngold, and medical workers put their arms round her and carried her off the sector of play.

She would return to the competitors ground and compete on bars – her greatest occasion – placing up a 14.675. She scratched from the remaining three occasions.

Jones beforehand withdrew from the U.S. championships as a result of a nagging shoulder damage flaring up.

That is the third damage for the U.S. ladies this week, following Skye Blakely and Kayla DiCello each tearing their Achilles.
